More From the Weekend & Niki+

Today is one of my beeeessst friend's birthdays...
"I like the way you’re not afraid. You got the world planned in your mind. People say you cannot do.. well they don’t know a friend like you.." - Friend Like You by Joshua Radin

I was listening to Joshua Radin while I was working out this afternoon.. I know.. Joshua Radin does not make workout friendly music. Oh, that's not why you were surprised? Yes, I really did workout. For a good 1.5 hours, too! Anyway, one of the songs he was singing made me think immediately of Niki.. specifically that line under that cute picture of her. She is the best friend. Not just mine, but as a friend.. she's just the best at being a friend. I'm sooo lucky she's mine! I hope everyone has a Niki of their own.. so Happy Birthday Niki! And as I told her this morning, we still aren't old. If you scored a 26/100 on a test you'd be failing because it's such a small number.. so we are still failing, it's fine.

There were a few funny pictures on my camera from this weekend that I felt need to be shared. Niki and I were outside on this little deck overlooking the lake. We were taking pictures of ourselves- a pretty common occurrence when we get together- when we noticed a bunch of our friends across the water in a different part of the restaurant. We waved and yelled at each other.. good times.

They are too cute. I'm so glad Matt and I were able to make it to their wedding.. it was so great to see Leah and Rob and a bunch of people from college.. some of whom I have not seen in years. YEARS. That is absurd.

After the wedding was over they had a bonfire out on the beach. Bonfires are so great. It was raining a little, but the fire was so hot it didn't really matter. Some smart people had umbrellas (I am not one of them) so I huddled under Rose's for a while. Thanks Rose!

I want to go back to Lake George. I had no idea how cute it was. My mom used to vacation their with her family when she was a little girl. At that time they just had a bunch of cabins in the woods. Now it's very built up with hotels, lodges, restaurants.. everything you could need, which is lovely, but I wouldn't mind it just being a bunch of cabins in the woods. Do places like that still exist? I would definitely try and rent one, one day if they do.

And the wedding looks even awesomer with these new pics! I'm glad you got to see these peeps you haven't in years! I bet they're the people that even though you haven't seen them in awhile...it's like nothing really changed. That's a cool feeling.
