I grew up riding every summer really- none of that fancy stuff, just western saddle rides through the woods. It had been a while since I'd been in the saddle though. Before this trip I'd gone once in the past 10 years. I guess it's like riding a bike.
Last summer while we were on our northwestern road trip, Marissa and I went on an all day ride through Yellowstone National Park. It was unbelievable. Luckily, we were in the park for the very first ride of the season. It was just us and an older couple with our 2 guides. We had so much fun and could barely walk the next day (8 hours in the saddle will do that to you when you haven't ridden in years.)
Bandit and Flop, our trusty sidekicks..
Yellowstone looks amazing! What a good way to describe it, it does look like another planet. Bandit and Flop are soo cute. Love the way they're leaning on each other:)
ReplyDeleteOh and about the dust issue we were talking about the other day, the guy at the camera shop said when you change your lens, you should do it with the body facing down instead of up. This prevents dust from entering and reduces the black spots. I only have one lens so the guy told me not to mess with it. But I know you have plently of lenses and just wanted to share this with you :)
aww! i've always wanted to go horseback riding...I did it once when i was a kid...with someone leading the horse. i wonder if I could ever be GOOD at it. Love the pictures too. The one of the horses hugging should be framed. = )

Hahah horse back riding sounds fun/slightly painful for the first time!! xD!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I was going to say that!!! About Yellowstone! It really looks surreal and out of this world. I'm so glad we have national parks. My eyeballs are just eating up those photos (in a non-creepy way, my failing at metaphors haha)
And I don't know much about Wyoming but if you say it's like the subway is to Manhattan then that must be a big rite of passage!
Oh I love horseriding! But I haven't done it in years! I think it's time that I organise a nice horseriding trips with some of my friends!
