rocky shores and crashing waves.
i think that large cement structure in the first photo is a gun turret from world war I or II.. anyone know for sure? i couldn't find anything online about it other than 1 solitary photo that was called "gun turret." it's in Montauk, NY at the lighthouse.
Gorgeous pictures! Funny I was just down the south coast of England and took some coastal pics too! There is something so beautiful about crashing waves and shoreline walks hu? How do you get your pictures so light and airy looking? Mine always end up on the bright side but would love any tips to play around with. -JB.

Hi Jackie :) I've never use this reply thing.. so let's see if it works. I don't know if you will be notified of my reply or not.. would be cool if you were! but anyway..
DeleteI wrote a little bit about how I edit my photos here: http://www.alostfeather.blogspot.com/2012/01/dreamlike-photos.html
I also shoot in manual so I can control the light before editing. I think that really makes the difference for me... especially when shooting into the sun (which i love to do!)
You take the most breath taking scenery photos!

ReplyDeleteThese are such lovely photos! The rocky shore is just so much prettier than the sandy beaches we have around here.

I. LOVE. PEBBLE. BEACHES. Ah!
ReplyDeleteyou are so blessed to be able to explore those beaches :) i feel the same with the little lakes and rivers in the northwoods here in wisconsin. but montauk... i've been smitten by montauk since eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
ReplyDeletedefinitely one place i want to travel to... i don't need the exotic bahamas or even hawaii - rather, find more peace and solace in the more earthy.
thank you for sharing and allowing me to live vicariously through your photography!
Montauk is my favorite place.. my family and i spent summers there, so it's like a home away from home. and eternal sunshine is one of my favs! you should definitely plan a visit.. but i recommend a season other than summer- it get's extremely crowded and prices for everything go up.
Deletei deeeeefinitely want to visit wisconsin.. aside from having this crazy need to see all 50 states, wisconsin just sounds lovely :)
So beautiful!
