Off Season

4.07.2011

I went down to the beach yesterday, to work on a little something. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was bright and warm. I like going to the beach during the off season. It's so different in the summer with thousands of people, beach umbrellas, life guards, food, music.. soo different.

Random fact- I was once attacked by a flyaway beach umbrella while I was laying on the beach minding my own business. Rude.

I got 4 hours of sleep last night and I feel it. I hope that means I will be able to fall asleep at a normal hour tonight (aka not 4am like I've been going to sleep lately.)

  7. I love the Holga. I really wanted to get into medium format photography and I thought the simplest (and cheapest) way would be the Holga. I love it!

Also, you're really going to love Yosemite. I wish I would've taken film there. I think I need to head back with my Holga and 35MM film cameras, too. It'd be great if I could do California and New York. We'll see..

  10. Yikes 4 hours. That's rough. Also how dare that umbrella? We don't get attacked by beach umbrellas in Iowa...just regular ones :) Have a good weekend!

  12. i love all the photos on your blog! they just make me want to pick up and travel! there's nothing like being on a big deserted beach, even if you have to wrap up warm :)

i used to be able to live on a few hours of sleep but since i started being more sensible and letting my body sleep more - it won't accept any less than 8 hours a night! haha XO

  19. Gorgeous photos. I love the beach off season. I grew up on Long Island (seems like that's where you are now too) and I can't imagine ever living too far from it.

Hope you got some sleep this weekend.
