Afternoon Tea at the Plaza

3.23.2011

My mom, sister, and I had tea at the Plaza today (yesterday? it's after midnight right now, oops.) It was so cute and really tasty and the weather was also pretty cooperative which made for a great day. We still had to wear warm coats, but it was sunny! That's a start. I can't believe I was wearing sandals last week. Come on weather.

I had one of the best teas I've ever had- Tuscan Pear Rooibus tea. The next time I'm in Manhattan I'll definitely pick some up to take home. We also had delicious little sandwiches, scones, and desserts. I think this was my first time in the Plaza and I'd definitely like to go back.

After we finished our tea we took a little stroll through Central Park. It was a little sad that the Wollman Skating Rink was still open.. I mean, it's March. Shouldn't the ice melt? No more ice. Please. Other than that, I love the park.

We also stopped at Bergdorf Goodman. I was still holding onto a Bergdorf giftcard that I got for Christmas and I finally found something I could afford to purchase. Everything I picked up in there was at least $1,000. Not kidding. I finally found a super cute pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses (which I'm wearing in the pictures!) that didn't destroy my bank account. Actually, after the giftcard they only cost me 6 bucks. Score.

Oddly enough, afternoon tea at the restaurant in Bergdorf is a bit more affordable than afternoon tea in the Plaza. My mom and sister had tea at Bergdorf last year and loved it. They also said they had a great view of the city from their table, so check that out if the Plaza is a little too pricey.

We walked for about 4 hours in total and Marissa and I went running this morning- probably not necessary, but oh well. That said, I'm exhausted. I hope it's sunny tomorrow so I can wear my new sunglasses!
