woods and rambles

11.21.2011

Just a few more photos from our hike last Saturday. It was 60 degrees today.. I hope this weather sticks around so I can get in another hike before snow happens.

That reminds me. I really want to try snow shoeing this year. How does that work? I wonder if there's a place I can go and rent snow shoes. And then, where do you go snow shoeing? Is it like cross country skiing type terrain? Or can I get some elevation in there? I think I need more sleep.

  3. I've been snow shoeing once. The person I went with was a seasoned pro, and I was all worried about being cold. I quickly learned that the actual snow shoeing part keeps your heart rate up and keeps you toasty warm!

These are lovely photos. I hope you get another hike in too!

  5. Sigh. I read your blog and feel guilty that I don't spend as much time outside as you. We live in Colorado--you'd think I'd be in the mountains every day! BUT! I must say that since discovering your blog, you've inspired a hiking excursion on more than one occasion. :)

  7. Beautiful photos. I live in AZ so I have no idea about snow or anything that goes along with it. Haha. I'm hoping it gets colder here because it is supposed to be 79 on Wednesday isn't that just disgusting? Haha anyways, thanks for the beautiful fall inspiration. If you get the chance, stop on over and check out my giveaway.

  12. I would love to live in a country where you can go on actual hikes, without everybody else taking the exact same walk when the weather is nice ;) You're very lucky!

  20. snow shoeing is a lot of fun! i go with my boyfriend's family every winter. we take the dogs and go on the same hiking trails as we do in the summer.

i believe you can rent them at certain parks--we snowshoed mount royal in montreal last year at school (so amazing!!) and we rented the snowshoes there.

    enjoy! :)
