We spent Saturday hiking in the woods. The trail was a bit of an obstacle course because of the downed trees either from hurricane Irene or the early snowfall. I even got to put my compass (the iphone app version) to the test when we lost the trail. It worked.

The ground was absolutely covered in leaves, but I'm glad we got to hike with the last of the colors still clinging to the trees.

    So pretty! I'm from Ireland and we never see the colours as much as you do in the States. Since I'm living in Wisconsin this year I finally got to experience the change of the seasons!

    ugg these pictures are so beautiful and make me want to go hiking so badly! seeing all the yellow leaves makes me jealous! we haven't gotten that yet, alot of the trees are still green!

    Beautiful photos :) I went backpacking the weekend before Halloween. I love the changing colors of the leaves. There's nothing better than hiking this time of year. Glad you didn't get lost :)
